Hypnobirthing empowers you to tap into the instinctive and innate aspects of your birthing knowledge, signaling to your body during labour that you are in a secure environment, thus minimizing the release of adrenaline. This approach prepares you physically, practically, psychologically, and emotionally.

So, what exactly is Hypnobirthing?

“Hypno” involves utilizing hypnotherapy techniques (rest assured, no eccentric activities involved). Its purpose is to help you acknowledge and release fears, alleviate any pregnancy-related anxiety, and maintain a calm demeanor during birth, facilitating the production of the necessary hormones for the birthing process.

“Birthing” entails gently engaging with the elements required for giving birth. This comprehensive antenatal course equips you (and your partner) with various tools to prepare for your birth experience. These tools aid in decision-making throughout your pregnancy, labor, the birthing process, and the period after your baby arrives.

The Advantages of Hypnobirthing
Hypnobirthing operates on the premise that the greater the calmness and sense of safety experienced by the birthing person during labor, the more effectively and efficiently their essential birth hormones function.

Clinical research indicates that employing hypnobirthing techniques during childbirth yields:

1. Diminished sensation of pain
2. Shortened labor duration with fewer interventions
3. Reduction in the overall length of labor
4. Decreased reliance on pharmacological anesthesia/analgesia

While these statistical outcomes are noteworthy, the enduring impact lies in the emotional benefits derived from a positive birthing experience.

When is the best time to enroll in a Hypnobirthing course during my pregnancy?

Feel free to join my classes at any stage of your pregnancy. Starting earlier provides more time for practice, engagement with the tools, and listening to the hypnosis tracks. Typically, I welcome clients from 22 weeks onward. Many participants have found the course particularly beneficial, especially if experiencing anxiety. You are welcome to start at any time, even with just a few weeks to go, based on what suits you best.

Is it necessary for my birth partner to join me in the Hypnobirthing course?

Each spot in the course is reserved for the pregnant individual and one birth partner. While you are welcome to attend alone, if you intend to have someone else support you during labour (such as a friend or a Doula), it would be highly advantageous for them to participate. If you plan to have more than one birth partner, please inform me, as the course is designed for a 1:1 setting. Consistency is essential, so having the same person attend all classes ensures a progressive understanding of skills and content built upon each session. Your support during labour will gain insights into the significance of birth physiology and your personal care preferences, contributing to an environment conducive to childbirth.

What are the advantages of taking your Hypnobirthing course?

Having been immersed in the birthing world for more than two decades as a Doula, Pregnancy Yoga teacher, and Hypnobirthing practitioner, I cherish the opportunity to build strong connections with my clients. This rapport fosters an environment where clients feel comfortable asking any questions, providing them with a sense of support and the assurance that I will be there for them throughout our journey together. This continuity of care can be particularly reassuring for clients seeking ongoing support.

This course offers you the chance to unwind, fostering a calm atmosphere that supports you to explore and prepare for your birthing journey. Welcoming everyone into a supportive environment, the course encourages questions, promotes a feeling of safety, and provides a space for you to be yourself. The activities undertaken in class are designed to induce relaxation, making you more receptive to suggestions. These suggestions play a vital role in preparing for labour and are more likely to be impactful as positive anchors gradually embed into your subconscious through ample practice and repetition.

For those attending face-to-face classes, refreshments and cake are included—because, after all, cake is essential!

From which institution did you receive your Hypnobirthing teacher training?

Amidst the multitude of teachers accredited by various organisations offering hypnobirthing, my 20 years in the birth world led me to discover a unique gem. I chose to train as an Independent practitioner accredited by MamaSerene, under the guidance of Dani Diosi. This distinctive training allows me to develop my own course content and record personalised scripts. I value the ability to offer this personalised touch, ensuring that I support you throughout the course and continue to do so when you listen to the recordings at home. This continuity aligns with the core principles of how Hypnobirthing operates—establishing anchors that ground you, fostering a sense of safety and security.
