Pool – Instructions
It takes 5 minutes using the electric pump to assemble the Pool.
Use the bigger nozzle that you have on your pump and plug it into the big black valve on the side of your pool.
Inflate until it has a distinct shape then stop and attach liner then continue to inflate until all the wrinkles are gone but make sure you don’t over inflate as it will damage the pool.
You will have plenty of time to add more pressure later if needed.
There is no particular order to inflate the walls or the floor first.
Insert the pool liner.
How deep the water should be for a maximum use of the buoyancy effect?
Regardless how deep a birthing pool is, the water depth should be enough to support you so you can feel the comfort of its buoyancy but it must never be too deep that you feel insecure.
As a general guidance the water should be covering your belly just below breast level. Above you are almost guaranteed to loose your stability when relaxing on your back, making necessary for you to hold strongly on the side of the pool (not very secure and not what you may need during labour). Also too much water depth will reduce greatly your choice of labour positions.
The recommended water level should be between 18” to 20”.
The hose supplied has been processed in a completely different manner and does not contain or release toxins into the water. They are food grade and therefore safe to use for the birth of your baby.
Just connect to your tap connector with the hose end adapter. It should take around 20/30 minutes to fill the pool according to your water flow.
The inflatable birthing pool provides a better insulation than rigid birthing pool and keeps the water warm longer.
The birth environment should always be at least 25-28°C (77-82°F) to ensure the thermal protection of the newborn. In a room at 25°C, the temperature of the water will drop by less than a 1°C per hour. The use of a heat retention cover is not necessary.
The water temperature is controlled by adding or removing hot/cold water.
Kettles of hot water provide a quick way to increase the temperature in the pool should it start to cool off.
Use a thermometer to check that the temperature is correct
First remove all debris using a tea strainer or net.
Empty the pool either by:
1. Using a bucket; this is the physical option, it takes around 45 to 60 minutes to empty the pool.
2. Create a siphon using your hose pipe; you stick one end of the hose into the pool and the other end into the drain of your choice and out goes the water. For this to work the hose needs to be filled with water and it helps if the drain is lower than the pool. Sounds complicated but it is really easy.
3. Alternatively you can use a submersible water pump to empty your pool faster and effortlessly. (Included in Kit)
Dispose of the liner and any waste.
The clean the pool with Milton solution and allow to dry fully. The upright walls and its compactness make the cleaning and drying very easy, avoiding bacteria to fester in an inaccessible damp space. Make sure the pool is completely dry before you store it back in its bag.
Open the valves on the bottom and sides of the pool.
Slowly and carefully press and fold until all the air is out – close the valves.
Fold the pool and replace in the carrying bag.
Arrange for collection:
Call Claire on 07966288236 to arrange for the pool to be collected after it has been emptied and cleaned.

“Women wishing to give Cerradas to other women must first
receive one themselves”.
– Angelina Martínez Miranda, traditional Mexican midwive.
I recently hosted a hands-on workshop where I was taught by the beautiful, Mayella how to seal the birth and honour the woman’s work during pregnancy and childbirth.
The Cerrada is a traditional Mexican ceremony that Angelina Martínez Miranda, the inheritor of three generations of midwifery wisdom (her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who were all traditional midwives, practicing for around 40 years each) has lovingly shared. The Cerrada combines their wisdom with the many courses she has taken in midwifery and related subjects to keep up-to-date with evidence-based obstetrics to gently support women and men at all stages of their lives …
Why did I want to do this? … I offer a form of closing where I have honoured my clients experiences whatever they may be … however I had never been honoured in this way … I also had this big calling where I felt that I wanted to go back to the roots, to be authentic in what I share with my clients … I have for nearly 18 years remained open … never truly honoured myself by receiving a cerrada … practitioners who I had trained with never honoured the process … to open and then support the closing …
I have to say this experience for me was most profound … releasing so much … and starting the gentle journey of reconnecting and nourishing myself …
The Cerrada is a truly blissful experience for anyone.
The essence of the cerrada is to release any tension whilst also helping to relieve anxiety, supporting those that feel overwhelmed or over stimulated, anyone suffering from shock or trauma, menstruation problems, fertility or those mamas who are healing during their postnatal period. It’s something for everyone.
Cerrada is a postpartum healing ceremony, created by a Mexican tradition where the postpartum mother was and is cleansed and then wrapped. It helps to nurture the mother after her birth journey into motherhood. It is a celebration, a setting of sacred space, and a way to nurture mama & baby.
As women go through Childbirth, it is quite an ‘open’ experience. Everything during labour is about opening, opening physically, emotionally, spiritually but once the baby is born, the body requires sealing or closing that which has been opened and is raw and vulnerable. Birth is an amazing experience but afterwards that openness can leave us empty.
The ritual can also help “open & close” a new Mother energetically, as both pregnancy, and particularly the intense process of labor and birth, can be very vulnerable times for a woman, psychologically and physically.
The Cerrada is for anyone … if you are a mother please connect to discuss when this would be right for you in your postpartum period. However, it is open to all mothers/women at any time that wish to find some closure for themselves.
We are honouring new mothers, we are honouring all women, we honour your journey, we hold your space …. be held, honoured, warmed and loved. Come and experience your Cerrada. It will help you to feel safe, quieten your mind and support you to gently re-gather yourself, your energy ….
Cerrada is great for any situation that has been an overwhelming experience. It will help you to feel safe, quieten your mind and allow you to re-gather your energy. You will be able to rest in this peaceful state. The firm hold of the cloth supports you let go and go deep inside.

Wrapping the belly is so effective and can be an important part of your postpartum journey. It naturally aids the body to shrink and recover in a shorter period of time. A belly bind provides your postpartum body with complete support to assist abdominal re-attachment, improve your posture, stabilise your loosened ligaments, and provide support to your torso while vital organs return to their pre-pregnancy size and position.
During pregnancy the body retains water, fat, and air which may cause your body to swell and expand. This also includes the organs in the womb area such as the cervix and vagina to also expand and enlarge. The water retained by cells supported the amniotic fluid and the purpose of the air was to cushion your baby, your internal organs, and bones as your centre of gravity shifted and your baby grew. When your baby was born, the excess water, fat, and flatulence are no longer needed and the cells will naturally release and shrink back to their pre-pregnant size.
A postpartum belly bind is a holistic support tool for your abdominal and pelvic organs, including the muscles in the pelvic area. It’s vital that the pelvic floor is supported in the postpartum period.
The belly bind begins level with the public bone and wraps around the hips & ends below the breastbone … see the attached video links. It provide the cervix, pelvic floor and internal organs with complete support. The body starts to gently close.
The belly bind is most effective and best used during the first 8 weeks postpartum but can be useful for support any time after childbirth.
For c-section births from 4 – 6 weeks onwards …

• Menstrual cramping
• Healing after childbirth or surgery

2 x layers to help protect your clothes from becoming stained by the paste. These are upcycled bambino mio reusables that can be machine washed (do not use softner) .

THE PASTE WILL STAIN YOUR BELLY BIND, CLOTHES AND SKIN! Please be sure to cover it up.

Wearing the bind
The belly bind can be worn for a few hours or can be worn all day. Use your discretion.
While it is traditionally worn every day for 40 days during the confinement period of women in the East, we see great results from women wearing it 6-8 hours each day for 2-3 weeks.

Why a belly bind and not just some support pants?
It supports and gently pulls the separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) back together
It encourages healing from pelvic/pubic separation (a partial bind during pregnancy can be especially beneficial for pelvic support). Please ask if you would like to know more.
It supports relaxed and untoned abdominal muscles.
It reduces fluid and air retention in your bowels/abdomen.
It nurtures the mother in a time of vulnerability and healing and she regains confidence in her body.
It may prevent back pain. While wearing it, you are reminded to sit and walk straight, thus avoiding any uncomfortable positions.
It may decrease postpartum bleeding time by helping the body to expedite the process.
In the sadness of a miscarriage or still-birth, belly binding can support the mama and improve emotional healing as it speeds physical healing.
Each time you choose to use your belly bind it is custom fit to your body, not a one size fits all.
Your bind will start at the pubic bone and end on the top of your rib cage, just below your breast. Postpartum girdles that only bind the abdomen also push down on the pelvic floor muscles and organs, potentially causing or worsening pelvic, uterine, or bladder prolapse.
The belly bind supports the ongoing changes in your postpartum body giving you a custom fit.
